How not to be judgemental as a Kids life coach

Uncategorized May 11, 2022

Building resilience, leadership and mindset in children as a Kids Life Coach is my super power!

I love the topic of peak performance in children and can speak on it all day long!! I so admire how many parents are raising super resilient kids...what I have found is that tough situations can always be overcome if you are willing to accept the need to adapt and change.

I see the parents who face challenges head on doing one or more of these things....They have:

✨a sense of connection and understand the value of the concept that it takes a village to raise a child,

✨a solid foundation of spirituality and their values are intact and their children have empathy and a servant attitude as a consequence,

✨ a great optimistic attitude and they are an awesome role model that walks the walk and talks the talk with their own positive mindset towards life!!

How blessed am I to know so many parents getting it right!!! Much gratitude for the lessons they have shown me in my resilience research over the years!

The thing is...that I have also found that the coolest, toughest, most proactive parents are also the same ones who aren't scared of asking for help!

So when our global network of Kids Life Coaches get asked who their ideal client would be....it would be the parent who is trying their best but isn't afraid to get it 'wrong' and ask for help!

Kids Life Coaching is about supporting families on their journey in a non invasive and proactive way! It really is a beautiful collaboration between a parent who is subjective and coach who is objective. Sometimes having a life coach who is on the picture frame and able to have a birds eye view of the picture....is super helpful.

That being said, we know that usually those parents and families who would benefit most from resilience building and mindset support are usually those who make excuses. They do this because usually they feel vulnerable or they don't want to be judged.

The thing is in our Kids Life Coach Certification training, our Kids Life Coach Academy school trains our coaches to put judgement aside. We train and teach them to filter their experiences with parents through a neutral lens. This takes practice...

In a recent professional supervision session, one of my students asked this...

"How do you not judge parents who are doing a bad job?"

My answer was easy. "I just don't". I made a decision long ago to not let my personal values taint the experience for my clients. Even if our values don't match, I make sure that I meet them where they are at. There is such a tremendous nurturing power in that!

So if you want to support parents to build resilience in their children and you want to be a world-class Kids Life Coach then you need to learn the skills and the delicate art of putting judgement aside. This means working on your own mindset so that you can filter your experiences through a healthy belief system. We do a lot of this work with our students in our bi-weekly mentorship sessions and to be a success they understand that even after certification they need to continue!

I look forward to you continuing your journey as a non-judgemental kids life coach! There is such power in this being your super power!

Regards with zeal,
