A Playful Way for Kids Life Coaches to Attract the Right Clients

Uncategorized Nov 10, 2025

If you’re a Kids Life Coach, you already know the magic that happens when children and families reconnect with curiosity, courage, and confidence. You witness small moments of growth, bravery, and connection and you know that coaching isn’t about fixing anyone, but about supporting transformation in a way that’s playful, relational, and meaningful.

Yet when it comes to talking about your own coaching practice, that same ease and playfulness can vanish. Marketing suddenly feels like a performance. We overthink the words, try to sound “professional enough,” or get stuck wondering if what we say will land with our clients.

I know that feeling well. At the start of my coaching career, almost two decades ago, I used to waffle a lot! Can you relate?

Then I started to wonder: what if sharing my work didn’t have to feel like me talking too much and listening too little? What if the same qualities I was bringing to my coaching sessions: curiosity, creativity, and genuine connection, could guide the way I was inviting families to work with me? Since then, I don't waffle as much (I still like to talk LOL!) but it is now with purposeful direction!

Marketing as Invitation, Not Performance

Marketing doesn’t need to be a pitch. For us as Kids Life Coaches, it’s an extension of our values in action. We don’t market in the traditional sense; we invite. We extend a hand to parents and children, offering the possibility of transformation, not a transaction.

Walking the zeal walk and talking the zeal talk matters. When you show up with authenticity and playfulness, people feel it. They recognize your energy long before they ever read a service description or click a link.

Bringing Play Back into Client Invitations

As Kids Life Coaches, we need to bring a sense of play back into client invitations. This isn’t about scripts or marketing hacks. It’s about presence, storytelling, and relationships that feel natural and alive just like the coaching you offer in your sessions.

Think about it: the same curiosity you bring to a session, the same playful ways you support children in exploring emotions or confidence, can also guide how you talk about your practice. Inviting clients to work with you doesn’t need to feel forced; it can feel like an extension of your values.

Here’s the beautiful truth:
You can grow your practice in a way that feels aligned, relational, and playful. The same principles you bring to your coaching — curiosity, connection, creativity, and presence — are the very ones that make marketing feel natural.

Let’s explore how.

1. Lead with Curiosity

Children show us that curiosity opens doors. What if your marketing was less about convincing and more about wondering out loud?

Ask yourself:

  • What questions are parents quietly holding in their hearts?

  • What small truth could you share that makes them think, “Oh, I’m not alone in this”?

Curiosity invites connection. When you speak to the real experiences families are having without judgement and without jargon, people feel seen. When they feel seen, they’re more likely to reach out.

2. Make Your Message Playful

Play is engagement. It’s the language of possibility.

Think of your social media, newsletter, or talks as your grown-up playroom. This is a space to share insights and spark curiosity. Instead of polished perfection, offer presence:

  • Tell a story about a lightbulb moment (yours or a composite example).

  • Use playful metaphors: “Imagine your child’s confidence as a balloon you’re helping them hold gently…”

  • Invite reflection — a question, an exercise, or a mindful moment.

When people experience play and warmth through your content, they intuitively sense how it might feel to work with you.

3. Share Stories That Inspire Confidence

Every coach has witnessed small, powerful transformations. You know the ones I am talking about. The moment a child tries something new, or a parent shifts their perspective just a little.

Share those stories (anonymously and ethically, of course) to help others imagine what’s possible for them. Stories don’t “sell” your work — they show it. They demonstrate that growth is possible in real, human ways.

4. Prioritise Relationship Over Reach

You don’t need to chase algorithms or trends.
You need relationships authentic, ongoing, nurturing connections.

Send a personal message to a parent you’ve supported before. Collaborate with another professional who shares your values. Comment on a colleague’s post with genuine warmth.

The more relational your approach, the more sustainable your business becomes. People don't choose the coach with the flashiest feed they choose the one whose presence feels steady, safe, and real.

5. Nurture Yourself as You Nurture Others

You can’t model play, confidence, or resilience if your own well feels dry.
Coaches thrive when they, too, are supported when they have space for reflection, growth, and encouragement.

That’s why I created my Kids Life Coach Professional Membership. If you are already part of our  playful, supportive community you will know the value it brings. Together, we explore your coaching by upgrading your skills, strengthen their marketing presence, and reconnect to what makes your work meaningful.

It’s a space to grow professionally and personally with creativity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging at the heart of it all.

A Final Thought about Connection

Marketing, like play, isn’t about control it’s about connection.

So let yourself play.
Let your natural curiosity guide you.
Let your values be visible.

Because when you show up as your full, authentic self — the one who believes in growth, possibility, and joy — the right clients will recognise you instantly.

They’ll think, “That’s who I want to work with.”
