How to choose a training provider for your Kids Life Coach Certification

We had a great conversation and she asked great questions...but when it come to my recommendations....I told her she wasn't ready for this! Why?

Not because my Kids Life Coach Academy training won't empower, equip, educate and enable her to levarage her passion and purpose into action....

 

But because she asked me this...

 

But....

 

First let me give you some context...

 

She is doing a great job of exploring different options for her to pivot her corporate career to her dream of coaching children. So she has contacted a variety of people she perceives as offering 'similar' training services to what my organisation offers. I love that she is doing her homework!

 

I always admire people who are serious about their purpose and dig deep to find solutions to their needs!

 

So back to our conversation! She asked me:

 

"What makes your organisation better than XYZ (I won't say the name...)"

Yup...

 

She said the name of our perceived 'competitor' that I know very well. Our organisations have both been in the same space for a substantial amount of time and both of our organisations are offering training for people wanting to support children. Both of our organisations are doing great work in being part of the solution to mental health problems we are seeing in children!

 

I have often been asked what makes us better...so I was prepared for this question. Whilst I do seriously think we are better in many ways for many reasons (more about that in another post on another day!) I told her we aren't necessarily better than XYZ we are just "different".

 

Difference is good and my organisation Kids Life Studio Global Group has a global network of dedicated children's change makers coaching children in almost 40 countries around the world! So does XYZ!!

 

I believe that we all plant ourselves where we feel we 'belong'. Intuition is a key driver to finding your purpose and I told this lady that she will know who resonates with her intentions more.

 

I also told her that any company that over promises and under delivers is walking on tricky ground.

 

By the end of our call...I told her that she isn't ready to take the steps yet...

 

Why?

 

She is lacking in confidence and self belief that she can coach children successfully because she doesn't have a traditional background like many of our certified Kids Life Coaches... who are ex teachers, social workers, doctors, psychologists.

 

Rightfully so...she feels unequipped.

Because she is!

Others are miles ahead!

But you know what...

I LOVE her attitude...

 

The fact that she hasn't had the same opportunities to work with children or follow her passion and purpose earlier like many others...isn't an indication of her FUTURE potential.

 

What I did tell her is that it will take daily micro actions to achieve success as a Kids Life Coach if this is the direction she wants to take. It starts with her own daily habits, her mindset, her lifestyle choices, her beliefs but most of all her actions to become a lifelong learner!

 

So if you are thinking of exploring coaching children as a career and you feel you may not be 'good enough' or 'experienced enough' or 'equipped enough'....that's what my passion is.

 

I have launched two organisations Kids Life Coach Academy that is a school to learn and Kids Life Studio Global Group that is a community of certified coaches around the world holding hands and supporting children in powerful ways!

 

I believe we are all put on this earth with a gift and not everybody is able to work with children! It truly is something only a powerful few individuals are able to do!

It starts with taking action...

 

So at the end of our call...she left feeling incredibly overwhelmed...with more questions than answers...

 

BUT....

My job is done!

 

As an expert in Rebranding childhood....I am passionate about supporting those people who may have missed out on their opportunities to live their true purpose working with children.

 

Our world needs healing and my approach and my organisations may not resonate with everybody but I know this...

 

Today I mentored, inspired and encouraged this lady to step past her mind barriers and to take action.

 

By volutneering to work with children

By reading a parenting book

By enrolling in a short course (Like our Level 1 Theory of Kids Life Coaching!)

 

Why did I do this. Well because if she is truly meant to work with children...she will. Whether she works with our organisation or not...doesn't matter. What matters is that she works sustainably, ethically and with long-term benefits in mind!
