Kids Life Studio® Coach Academy
I have worked with many people from around the world who ask me this question at the beginning of their journey:
"What if I get it wrong as a Kids Life Coach?"
My answer is always the same...if you have a robust coaching system in place and you have a solid foundation of knowledge in place, you can't go wrong with good intentions.
What this means is this:
Anybody who is coaching children with an adult coaching certification or without any certification may be at risk of failing as a Kids Life Coach. Without doing due diligence on what kids life coaching is, and what it isn't, many well intentioned people take short cuts. They want to help children but they don't necessarily know how so they find out by trial and error. To me this can be dangerous.
When I started my kids life coaching practice in 2003, it was with two degrees in Education and having written a family resilience programme for my University Degree that I put into Beta testing phase first before rolling it out to the general public. This took me years of preparation and planning and I didn't just jump in with both feet first wanting to coach children because I thought it was something I would be good at.
It takes way more than enthusiasm to be good at coaching children. It takes diligence and hard work. End of story! Many of my students who have enrolled in our premium fast track package in kids life coaching have had me as their personal mentor. They will tell you that I am a hard task master BUT I push hard because I believe that we need to compress and expedite our journey towards supporting children by shifting out of our comfort zone. There is no point in making excuses and wasting time because children need our help so with my mentorship, our students are able to quickly and easily transform lives and earn by launching their kids life coaching practice with my help.
When it comes to coaching children, mediocrity is not enough in my opinion. Good enough may be good enough when it comes to other things, but I believe that children are our most precious resource and we need to support them in the best way possible. They deserve nothing less.
So whether you may have received formal training and certification as a Kids Life Coach or whether you haven't, maybe you feel like there is a risk of you failing as a Kids Life Coach? here is a simple checklist of 10 questions that you can ask yourself that may get nudge you to get back on track if you have lost your way:
1. Do you have a daily self care routine in place?
2. Are you receiving professional supervision so that you can grow and learn?
3. Do you attend continuous professional development sessions to upskill yourself?
4. Are you part of a community of like minded professionals with shared wisdom?
