Knowing your intentions as a Kids Life Coach adds clarity to your outcome
Let us iron something out with you. You may have been wondering about the notion that Kids Life Coaching is becoming a very popular 'niche'. For some...who may never have heard of coaching for children before now...possibly this may be the case.
However, considering the fact that I have been coaching children since 2003, I don't see this as true. Coaching children isn't a niche within life coaching. Rather I see specialising in a particular area pertaining to children as the actual niche.
My Therapeutic Play Based Coaching Model® allows any student who certifies with us through our Level 1 & 2 Kids Life Coach Training to adapt and apply our 5 tools and 7 ingredients to target a specific area of need in a child's life.
Take Monique in South Africa for instance. She certified with us and has specialised in divorce and family dynamics. Or Aurelie in Switzerland is a specialist in technology. My area of passion is family resilience and leadership.
Our belief at The Kids Life Studio® is that to be a world-class Kids Life Coach, it is about becoming an expert in an area of interest. This is why our Level 3 Advanced Kids Life Coach Training refines the niche that we get our students to start thinking about in their Level 2 Kids Life Coach Certification.
A generalist when it comes to coaching children...will not be as effective as somebody who is dedicated to refining their skills in a particular area. Just like you wouldn't go to a heart surgeon if you had a broken leg. The same goes with coaching children. Parents deserve to know that you the Kids Life Coach they choose is equipped to deal with their children in the correct way for the correct outcome.
Yet, there are so many Kids Life Coaches who work from a space of fear. They don't know their intentions and they have absolutely no clarity. So their outcome is mediocre to say the least. They practice from a space of being scared they won't get enough clients, rather than believing that if they are good at what they do in their particular niche, that they will become known and respected for it. Clients flow towards you based on the energy you project...You cannot be good at everything...so a generalist...is well...generally somebody who is using a "hit and miss" approach!
I was there once...I was in a complete state of fear when I first started coaching children over 18 years ago...so don't worry...it happens...this is a real rookie mistake to make, but not one that can't be easily rectified! So if you are practicing as a generalist now is the time at the beginning of 2021 to refine your intentions and get clear on the outcome you would like as a Kids Life Coach. If you are a parent and you are looking for a Kids Life Coach for your child, be sure to check their credentials and training.
